Goings On in P1 & P2

September and October have been very busy months for the P1 and P2 class. The P1 children settled into school quickly and started to learn all about phonics

and numbers.

Meanwhile, the P2 children have improved their reading skills

and developed their awareness of numbers, including money. The topics that have been covered were ‘Teddy’s Birthday’, which was a great success

and ‘Autumn’, the walk through Castle Gardens

helped make it more relevant to the children. Special days have also included European Day, which focussed on Northern Ireland.

During November the children will study the topic ‘Myself’. Dates of special events during this topic will be:

Thursday 29th November at 9:30am – The children will visit The Country Playgroup to watch a puppet show all about looking after themselves. Parent volunteers to help transport would be very much appreciated.
